When should we schedule our cake smash session?
Cake smash sessions are typically scheduled around your baby’s first birthday, usually between 11–13 months old. I recommend booking a few months in advance so we can plan the perfect theme and reserve your preferred date.
Do you provide the cake?
Yes! Your cake smash experience includes a professionally made cake designed to coordinate with your session theme and setup. (If you prefer to provide your own cake, you are welcome to do so as well.)
What if my baby has food allergies or dietary restrictions?
Your baby’s safety is always my priority. My baker offers a variety of allergy-friendly recipes, and a custom cake can be created to accommodate many dietary needs. If a traditional cake is not the right option for your little one, we can also create a fun and adorable smash experience using alternative foods such as fresh fruit or another baby-friendly option that fits your family’s needs. We will work together to make sure your baby has a safe and memorable first birthday celebration!
What should my baby wear for the session?
I provide outfits and accessories for your baby to use during the cake smash portion of the session. You are also welcome to bring a special outfit or heirloom item if there is something meaningful you would like included.
What if my baby doesn’t want to smash the cake?
That’s completely normal! Some babies dive right in, while others prefer to explore slowly (or just enjoy touching the cake). I never rush the process — we follow your baby’s lead and capture their personality along the way.
Can we be included in the photos?
Yes! Family and parent portraits can be added on to your cake smash session. These first birthday moments are about more than just the cake... they are about celebrating your baby and the love surrounding them.
How long does a cake smash session take?
Cake smash sessions typically last about 30–60 minutes, allowing plenty of time for portraits, outfit changes, the cake smash, and a little cleanup afterward.
