Newborn sessions typically take place within the first two weeks of your baby's life.
Since babies arrive on their own schedule, they are booked as “newborn reservations” based on your due date. This ensures availability on my calendar no matter when baby decides to arrive.
Sessions (reservations) often book months in advance and I only book a limited number of newborns each month, so the best time to contact me is during your second trimester to guarantee availability.
However, we know how chaotic this time can sbe, so please do reach out if it’s a last-minute request; I may have availability!
YOUR CHILD’S COMFORT AND SAFETY ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THEIR BEAUTIFUL PORTRAITS, SO I’M TRAINED IN NEWBORN SAFETY, MAKING SURE TO STAY UP TO DATE WITH CURRENT SAFETY GUIDELINES AND TECHNIQUES.
Before photography, I pursued a career in nursing, during which I became certified in CPR and first aid. To further protect my clients, I’m fully vaccinated, with titers drawn regularly to verify immunity. (My immediate family is fully vaccinated, as well.) I’ve also been cleared by the local school district to work with children (background-checked and fingerprinted).
When choosing a newborn photographer, the photographer's experience, education, talent and training in newborn safety (not to mention being a legal and insured business) is important, especially when you’re entrusting them with your precious newborn baby. 💕

Newborn sessions take place in my newborn studio in Newburgh, New York. Due to the amount of equipment involved in newborn portrait sessions, I do not provide in-home newborn photography sessions.
All print and product orders are completely optional.

How many images, poses and set ups are included in a session?
The number of images for each session varies and is difficult to answer because each baby is different, but you can expect a minimum of 2-3 sets up. Some newborns sleep through an entire session, and some wake up every single time the camera shutter clicks.
Newborn sessions are not timed, as every baby is unique… we will stop as needed to feed, change, settle and soothe baby so they are relaxed and comfortable.
On average, newborn sessions are 1-2 hours but could be more if baby is fussy and unsettled. I listen closely to your baby’s cues. I let them tell me what poses they feel comfortable with, so they feel safe and comfortable as their comfort and safety is my main priority!
